Incumbent: No

Employment: Indiana State Trooper

Education: Lawrenceburg High School and Southeastern Career Center graduate

Other Public Office/Public Service/Business/ Other Experience: Deputy Coroner, Law Enforcement officer, and Volunteer EMT

Awards/Achievements: Certified Medicolegal Death Investigator, DRE (Drug Recognition Expert) certification, Reid School of Interview and Interrogation certification, Indiana State Police recruit primary instructor, CPR instructor certified, Tactical/Medical combat casualty care instructor, and DUI field sobriety instructor.  Accommodation from Kentucky Commonwealth Attorney, Rob Sanders for my testimony and subsequent criminal conviction of a drug trafficker, and a commendation from Indiana State Police Versailles post Lieutenant Paul Adams on professionalism and care given to an injured student at a local high school.

Why are you the best candidate for the office you are seeking?:

First and foremost I am the only candidate that is a Certified Medicolegal Death Investigator.  Indiana law requires all elected coroners and deputy coroners complete this certification which includes a 40 hour course, an externship with a board certified pathologist, and an exam.  I have been on the coroner’s department for 15 years and through that time I have investigated over 280 deaths and for 5 years I served as Chief Deputy Coroner.   I am a law enforcement officer which has allowed me to gain a great amount of investigative experience, which I feel this knowledge is very important to have when dealing with death investigations.  Additionally, I have administrative experience by being placed as second and third shift District Post Command Officer at the State Police Versailles Post and as a police recruit instructor.  My passion is to serve the citizens of Dearborn County with professionalism and compassion.

What will be your top priorities if you are elected/re-elected?:

If elected as Dearborn County Coroner my goal is to ensure we continue to have experienced and well-trained deputy coroner’s, to ensure they get the most up-to-date training, and to work closely with law enforcement, the prosecutor, and most importantly families. This will ensure that each case is accurately and fairly resolved as quickly as possible.
