Daniel Elliott was elected as the 56th Indiana State Treasurer on November 8th, 2022. In this role, Treasurer Elliott serves as the Chair of the Indiana Bond Bank, the Statewide E-911 Board, the Indiana Education Savings Authority, the ABLE Authority, and the Sole Trustee of the State Police Pension Trust, among several other positions. As the state’s chief investment officer, he oversees the management of over $16 billion daily.

Since taking office on January 1, 2023, Treasurer Elliott has led the State to earn $1.24 billion in general fund investments—more than the prior ten years combined. These historic results reflect Treasurer Elliott’s commitment to fiscal discipline, innovation, and stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

Prior to becoming Treasurer, Daniel Elliott worked his entire 25-year professional career in information technology, first as a software engineer and then as a software architect. An entrepreneur at heart, he started his own software consulting company focusing on application development and cybersecurity. Daniel has also served in local government as a member of the Morgan County Council and President of the Morgan County Redevelopment Commission. These experiences provided him with unique insight into the challenges that local government officials face every day.

Daniel Elliott grew up in rural Jennings County with an Appalachian upbringing, which instilled in him the values of faith, family, and grit. Daniel was the first member of his family to attend college, graduating from Utah Valley University with a bachelor’s degree in business and computer science. In 1995, Daniel married his wife, Laura, and together they have raised four amazing children on their small farm in Morgan County. Daniel is a proud school-choice dad and an advocate for traditional Hoosier values. He is active within his church and is the first Latter-Day Saint to be elected to statewide office in the State of Indiana. In his free time, Daniel loves to spend time with his family outdoors. One of his passions is training his own horses, and he and his children can often be found outside riding their horses on a beautiful Indiana afternoon.

Today, as Indiana’s State Treasurer, Daniel serves with the same grit that shaped his upbringing. He stands up for local communities, protects taxpayer dollars, and serves with a heart grounded in faith, family, and rural Indiana values.
