Why are you the best candidate for the office you are seeking?  Prosecuting Attorneys are at the front line of improving the community and are responsible for holding people accountable.  Before going to law school, I worked as a Victim Advocate. In this position, I witnessed firsthand the significance a Prosecuting Attorney can have in victims’ lives.  Because of this, I knew I wanted to be a Prosecuting Attorney and seek justice for all those impacted by crime.  When I graduated from law school in 2003, I served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.  As a Deputy and now as the Prosecuting Attorney, I have tried numerous cases over the years, including murder, child molestation and drug dealing cases. I am invested in this community, and am proud to call it home. I grew up in Northern Dearborn County, where my parents instilled in me a strong work ethic and a servant’s heart.  My parents owned and operated Deddens Bakery for thirty years. We then got into the restaurant business with my sister opening Christina’s Restaurant in St. Leon. My brother, like my parents, continues to be a small business owner himself. Growing up and living here in Dearborn County almost my entire life, I, like the residents of both Dearborn and Ohio Counties, want safe communities: Safe from drugs, child abuse, domestic violence, senior abuse and impaired/intoxicated drivers, to name a few.

What will be your top priorities if you are elected/re-elected?  My priority is to continue with courageous leadership. I will continue to develop programs to make sure our children and seniors are safe and pursue those who victimize them.  Justice cannot be done without the good work of law enforcement officers. I will continue to work hand in hand with our law enforcement officers to keep our communities safe.
